Positive Reflection

Before joining Amal Academy, I was the kind of person who remained quiet in group conversations because I used to feel like my opinion doesn’t matter that much, so why should I drain my energy by explaining things to others, or maybe I was under confident about sharing my opinion. Time was passing and one day Amal academy advertisement appeared on my Facebook screen. I visited their page and found out how amazing this fellowship is. I wanted to be selected for the fellowship and got selected but didn’t know that it would be so tough to manage it with my studies.

Although I joined Amal academy, I used to get hesitant to take part in the session because of my nature. In one of the sessions, our PM Sir Saad and PA ma’am Fizza assigned us the task to envision ourselves as a superhero and what one change would we bring through our powers and asked us to post it on the Facebook group.

I wrote that if had a superpower I would ban child labor in Pakistan and posted it along with a simple picture that I drew.

I got few likes on it and forgot about it but a few days later Ma’am Fizza posted on her WhatsApp story that she is proud of her fellows for producing beautiful art and my work was also included in her story. I was amazed that this little effort was given so much value. I got motivated and felt a positive change inside me and started taking part not only in an Amal session but also in my clinical posting rotation despite the thing I might be answering wrong.

During the Amal assessment center when we were sent in breakout for the case study, the external mentioned 3 names who were speaking on the behalf of the whole group and took my name also. I felt good being appreciated. This fellowship was amazing. It just changed my life and filled me with so much positivity. Although this 3-month journey is about to end,it has given me so many good memories and friends. I will be going to miss the weekend sessions. Sir Saad and Ma’am Fizza have helped me to become a better version of myself through their constructive feedback and I am thankful to them.

It is truly said that positivity is a decision and I want to make this decision throughout my life. The career I have chosen for myself is not easy long hectic working hours, trauma cases so I wish myself good luck and I hope I remain calm and positive in every situation.
